How to Upload Your Logs for Canadian Historical Sites On The Air Using HamLog.online
If you're passionate about Canadian history and amateur radio, the Canadian Historical Sites On The Air (HSOTA) program perfectly combines both interests. Thanks to Eugene and the team at HamLog, it's now easier than ever to share your activations and celebrate our nation's heritage. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to upload your logs using HamLog.online and get recognized for your efforts.
Step 1: Sign Up for a Free HamLog Account
To get started, you'll need a free account on HamLog.online. Signing up is quick, but to help keep the awards system fair, your account must be verified by two existing members. You can use me (VE9CF) as one verifier if you need a hand. If you're stuck or need another verifier, drop me a line—one of our community members will be happy to assist.
Step 2: Upload Your Log File
Once your account is set up and verified, it's time to upload your log:
- Head to the MY CALLS section after logging in.
- Upload your ADI file. There's no need to reformat your log—your POTA or WWFF logs work just fine!
HamLog is designed for convenience, making it easy for operators to participate without extra hassle.
Step 3: Submit Your Activation for the HSOTA Award
With your log uploaded, here's how to make sure your historical site contacts count:
- Go to the AWARDS section, then select TERRITORY AWARDS.
- Find the Historical Sites On The Air award.
- Click Submit to the moderator.
- Choose your reference (you can select more than one if you activated multiple sites).
- Finalize your submission and wait for the moderator's approval.
That's it! Once approved, your activation will be officially recognized, and you'll be one step closer to earning HSOTA awards.
Need a Hand?
If you have questions or run into any trouble, don't hesitate to contact me (VE9CF) or another member of the HSOTA community. We're always happy to help fellow operators get on the air and share the fun.
A Big Thanks to HamLog

Happy activating, and see you on the bands!
