Special Event Callsigns: May 2025 Highlights
Israel: 77 Years of Radio and Independence
To mark both the 77th anniversary of the Israel Association of Radio Communication (IARC) and the founding of the State of Israel, local operators can use the special prefixes 4X77 and 4Z77 from April 30 to May 10. Learn more about amateur radio in Israel here.
Andorra: C37JPE Celebrates the Games of the Small States of Europe
Members of the Unio de Radioaficionats Andorrans (C37URA) will be active as C37JPE throughout May, in honour of the 20th edition of the Games of the Small States of Europe, held in Andorra la Vella from May 26-31.
Germany: 75 Years of DARC
The Deutsche Amateur-Radio-Club (DARC) marks its 75th anniversary with four special callsigns: DC75DARC, DD75DARC, DK75DARC, and DR75DARC, active from May 1 to October 31. Operators can even earn a "75 Jahre DARC" certificate. Find out how to participate.
Liechtenstein: HB0/DL2SBY on the Air
Kasimir, DL2SBY, will operate as HB0/DL2SBY from Liechtenstein between May 11-18, working HF and 6 meters. QSL via LoTW or direct.
Italy: II3IARU Marks IARU Centenary
Special callsign II3IARU will be on the air from April 28 to May 18, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) and the 75th anniversary of IARU Region 1.
Japan: JS6RRR Returns from Miyako Island
Take, JI3DST, will operate as JS6RRR and other calls from Miyako Island (AS-079) between April 23 and June 18. QSOs will be uploaded to Club Log and LoTW.
Austria: 4U0IARU from Vienna International Centre
The VIC Amateur Radio Contest DX Club (4U1A) celebrates the IARU centenary with special callsign 4U0IARU. This activity counts for Austria for DXCC and the Vienna International Centre for the CQ DX Marathon.
Belgium: OT25EPIC Promotes the Antwerp Port Epic
The Antwerp Port Contest Club (ON8APC) is using OT25EPIC to promote this year’s Antwerp Port Epic cycling race, with activity from May 10 to June 9.
Kazakhstan: 80 Years Since WWII
Fourteen special event stations, including UP80V, UQ80V, and others, will be active from May 1-10 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and Kazakhstan’s role in the victory. Commemorative certificates available here.
