United Arab Emirates Joins WWFF Program: A6 Becomes Newest Member
The World Wide Flora & Fauna (WWFF) program continues to expand its global reach with the exciting announcement that the United Arab Emirates has officially joined as a member. This addition brings amateur radio operators in the UAE into the international WWFF community, creating new opportunities for activations in this unique region.
New A6 Coordinator
Patrick, A65D, has been appointed as the coordinator for the UAE WWFF program. He has already begun the important work of documenting and adding new WWFF references to the global database, establishing the foundation for A6FF - the United Arab Emirates Flora and Fauna program.
What This Means for WWFF Participants
This development is particularly exciting for WWFF award hunters and activators worldwide. Despite its desert reputation, the UAE offers diverse natural environments, including mountain ranges, coastal areas, and protected reserves, that will now be part of the WWFF network.
Amateur radio operators planning visits to the UAE can now participate in WWFF activations, contributing to their personal awards progress and the program's mission of promoting conservation awareness through amateur radio.
About WWFF
For those new to the concept, the WWFF program encourages licensed amateur radio operators to venture outside their home stations and operate portable from designated natural areas. The program promotes awareness of our natural environment while enjoying the hobby of amateur radio in the great outdoors.
